Business Terms
Last updated 1 October 2026
Pre-launch notice. Muny is currently in test mode on Solana devnet, where tokens have no monetary value. The legal entity that operates Muny, its registered address and the governing law will be added here before Muny processes real-value transactions. Until then, “Muny”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of Muny, reachable at legal@muny.io.
These terms apply in addition to the Terms of Service when you use Muny for a business or organisation — to collect payments, send payouts, use the API, SDKs, webhooks or the WooCommerce plugin. If these terms conflict with the Terms of Service, these terms apply to business use.
1. Your responsibilities#
- Run a lawful business and hold any licences your activity requires.
- Give accurate information about your business. We may ask for verification documents (KYB) and may limit your account until we receive them.
- Keep your team's access appropriate: you are responsible for actions taken by your members and with your API keys.
- Comply with consumer-protection, tax, accounting and data-protection laws that apply to you and your customers.
2. Accepting payments#
- Non-custodial. Customers pay directly into the receiving wallet you choose. Muny observes and verifies the payment on Solana; it doesn't hold those funds.
- You are the seller. You are responsible for your products, prices, fulfilment, customer service, refunds and disputes. Show your customers your own terms and refund policy, and tell them that payments are processed using Muny.
- Only fulfil confirmed payments. Treat a payment as complete only when Muny reports it as confirmed (for example via a verified webhook) — never because a customer was redirected to your success page.
- No chargebacks. Blockchain payments can't be reversed by a card network or by Muny. Refunds are made by sending tokens back, at your discretion and under your policy.
- Fiat-priced checkouts. When you price in a currency such as USD, Muny quotes the $MUNY amount at the time the payment is created and locks that rate for the payment. Quotes are indicative and we don't guarantee any exchange value.
- Payments that are wrong (for example underpaid or paid late) are flagged for you to resolve with your customer.
3. Payouts and managed wallets#
- Managed wallets are custodial. Muny (or our custody provider) holds the keys and sends tokens only on instructions from your authorised team members or API keys. We keep records of each wallet's balance and transactions.
- You are responsible for the recipients and amounts you instruct. Payouts are irreversible once broadcast; check bulk files before confirming.
- We may apply limits, approval requirements and risk checks, and hold or decline payouts we haven't broadcast for security or compliance reasons.
- You may transfer your managed-wallet balance to a wallet you control at any time, unless the law or an investigation prevents it.
4. API, SDKs, webhooks and plugins#
- Keep API keys secret and server-side; revoke them immediately if exposed. Use idempotency keys as documented.
- Verify webhook signatures and handle events idempotently. We retry failed deliveries but don't guarantee delivery order or timing.
- Respect rate limits and the Acceptable Use Policy. We may change or deprecate API versions with reasonable notice.
- SDKs and plugins are provided under their open-source licence (MIT). You are responsible for how you configure and deploy them.
5. Data protection#
Your customers' data
For personal data of your customers and recipients that you send to Muny or collect through Muny's checkout, you are the controller and Muny is your processor. Muny will:
- process that data only to provide the Services and on your documented instructions (which these terms and your configuration represent);
- ensure people with access are bound by confidentiality, and keep appropriate technical and organisational security measures;
- use only the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy, and notify you of changes so you can object;
- help you respond to data-subject requests and, where required, with security and impact assessments;
- notify you without undue delay after becoming aware of a personal-data breach affecting your data;
- delete or return the data when you close your account, except where the law requires us to keep it;
- provide information reasonably needed to show compliance with these commitments.
You confirm you have a lawful basis to share this data with us and that you have given your customers the required privacy information.
6. Fees, suspension and termination#
Business features are free in test mode. Any future fees will be published with at least 30 days' notice. We may suspend or restrict business accounts as set out in the Terms of Service, including where required to investigate suspected fraud, sanctions or legal violations.
