Muny Wallet Terms

Last updated 1 October 2026

Pre-launch notice. Muny is currently in test mode on Solana devnet, where tokens have no monetary value. The legal entity that operates Muny, its registered address and the governing law will be added here before Muny processes real-value transactions. Until then, “Muny”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of Muny, reachable at legal@muny.io.
These terms apply to the Muny Wallet mobile app, in addition to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. They form the end-user licence agreement for the app.

1. A self-custody wallet#

Muny Wallet creates your wallet on your device. Your private key and 12-word recovery phrase are stored only there, protected by Face ID or your passcode. Muny never sees them and can't recover them. If you lose your device and your recovery phrase, your tokens are lost permanently.

  • Write your recovery phrase down and keep it somewhere safe and private. Never share it — Muny will never ask for it.
  • Your recovery phrase also works in other compatible Solana wallets, so you can always access your tokens without Muny.
  • Keep your device updated and protected with a passcode.

2. Your account and your wallet are separate#

Your Muny account (email and password) lets the app use Muny's services, such as free sends and activity history. Deleting your account doesn't delete your wallet or move your tokens — they stay with your recovery phrase. Deleting the app without your recovery phrase means losing access.

3. Sending, receiving and scanning#

  • Transactions are irreversible. Check the recipient and amount on the confirmation screen before approving with Face ID.
  • When you scan a merchant's QR code, check the merchant name and amount shown before paying. The merchant — not Muny — is responsible for the goods or services.
  • Free sends: Muny currently pays the Solana network fee for transfers made through the app. This is subject to limits and may be changed or withdrawn at any time; you can always send by paying the network fee from another wallet.
  • Only send $MUNY on Solana to a Muny Wallet address. Other tokens or networks sent to it may be lost.
  • In test mode (devnet), tokens have no value.

4. Licence#

Muny grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple's App Store Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, redistribute or reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows.

5. Apple#

  • These terms are between you and Muny only, not Apple. Muny, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Contact support@muny.io for support.
  • If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • Muny, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection or privacy claims.
  • Muny, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving any claim that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property.
  • You confirm you are not located in a sanctioned country and are not on a government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
