Terms of Service

Last updated 1 October 2026

Pre-launch notice. Muny is currently in test mode on Solana devnet, where tokens have no monetary value. The legal entity that operates Muny, its registered address and the governing law will be added here before Muny processes real-value transactions. Until then, “Muny”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of Muny, reachable at legal@muny.io.
These Terms govern your use of Muny — the website at muny.io, the dashboard, the hosted checkout, the API at api.muny.io, our SDKs and plugins, and the Muny Wallet app (together, the Services). By creating an account or using the Services you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. Businesses also agree to the Business Terms; Muny Wallet users also agree to the Muny Wallet Terms. Please read the Risk Disclosure.

1. What Muny is — and isn't#

Muny is software that helps people and businesses send, receive and accept payments in $MUNY, a token on the Solana blockchain. Transactions settle on Solana, a public network that Muny does not control.

  • Muny is not a bank, and balances are not bank deposits or covered by any deposit-insurance scheme.
  • Muny is not an exchange or broker. We don't offer trading, swaps, lending, staking or interest, and we don't give investment, tax or legal advice.
  • Prices or currency values we show (for example “≈ $29.88”) are indicative only.
  • While Muny runs in test mode on Solana devnet, all tokens are test tokens with no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for anything.

2. Who can use Muny#

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
  • You must not be located in, ordinarily resident in, or organised under the laws of a sanctioned or restricted region, nor be on (or owned or controlled by someone on) a sanctions list — see the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • You are responsible for making sure that using Muny is lawful where you are.
  • If you use Muny for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these Terms.

3. Your account#

Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your password, API keys and devices secure; you are responsible for activity under your account and keys. Tell us immediately at security@muny.io if you suspect unauthorised access. We may require you to confirm your email address or provide additional information, and we may refuse or close accounts as described in section 12.

4. Wallets and custody#

Muny supports two kinds of wallets, and it matters which one you use:

  • Self-custody wallets — the Muny Wallet app and any external Solana wallet (for example Phantom). You alone hold the private key and recovery phrase. We cannot access, freeze, move or recover funds in a self-custody wallet, and we cannot reset a lost recovery phrase.
  • Managed wallets (businesses only) — wallets whose keys are held by Muny or our custody provider so that Muny can send payouts and refunds on your instructions. Managed wallets are custodial: see the Business Terms.

5. Transactions#

  • Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Check the recipient address and amount before you confirm. We cannot cancel or reverse a transaction once it has been broadcast.
  • A transaction is complete only when it is confirmed on Solana. Network congestion, outages or forks may delay or prevent settlement.
  • We may decline, delay, hold for review or cancel a transaction we have not yet broadcast where we reasonably believe it is needed for security, to comply with law or sanctions, or to prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Sponsored network fees. We may pay the Solana network fee for some transactions (“no gas fees”). Sponsorship is a courtesy we can limit, change or withdraw at any time, including per-user limits.

6. The $MUNY token#

$MUNY is a utility token for payments and payouts within the Muny network. Holding $MUNY gives you no ownership, equity, profit, dividend, governance, redemption or other rights in Muny or any company. Nothing we publish is an offer to sell securities or an invitation to invest. The supply of $MUNY is administered by Muny, which may issue additional tokens. $MUNY may have no market, and its value — if any — may change or fall to zero.

7. Fees#

Muny is currently free to use in test mode. If we introduce fees, we will publish them and give you at least 30 days' notice before they apply to you. You are responsible for any taxes on your use of Muny.

8. Acceptable use#

You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In particular, you may not use Muny for illegal activity, to evade sanctions, for fraud, or to abuse sponsored fees or our infrastructure.

9. Third-party services#

Muny relies on services we don't control — the Solana network, RPC providers, wallet apps, app stores and email providers. We are not responsible for their availability, security or actions. Your use of a third-party wallet is governed by that wallet's terms.

10. Intellectual property#

We own the Services and the Muny name and marks. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Services as permitted by these Terms. Our SDKs and plugins are licensed under the open-source licence included with them (MIT), which prevails for that code. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

11. Privacy#

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. Transactions on Solana are public and permanent: wallet addresses, amounts and timestamps can be seen by anyone and cannot be deleted by us.

12. Suspension and termination#

  • You can stop using Muny and delete your account at any time (Settings, or the Muny Wallet app).
  • We may suspend or close your account, revoke API keys, or restrict features if you breach these Terms, if required by law or a regulator, to protect users or the Services, or if we stop offering a Service. Where reasonable we will give notice first.
  • Closing an account does not affect tokens held in a self-custody wallet. For managed wallets, we will let you transfer the remaining balance to a wallet you control unless the law prevents it.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 13–15) survive.

13. Disclaimers#

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. Test mode features may change or be removed at any time.

14. Limitation of liability#

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Muny is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill; for losses caused by blockchain networks, third-party wallets, your errors (such as a wrong address) or loss of your keys; or for events beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Indemnity#

You will indemnify Muny against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or the law, or from your dealings with your own customers or recipients.

16. Governing law and disputes#

Please contact legal@muny.io first — most issues can be resolved informally. The governing law and the courts or arbitration forum for disputes will be set out here once Muny's operating entity is registered. Consumers keep any mandatory protections of the law of their country of residence.

17. Changes and general terms#

  • We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the Services at least 30 days in advance, unless the change is required by law or for security. Continuing to use Muny after a change takes effect means you accept it.
  • These Terms, with the documents they reference, are the entire agreement between you and Muny about the Services.
  • If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours to a successor operating Muny.
